About The Course
Whether you are a composer or music producer working on your next big album, or you just want to refresh the harmony lessons you had already learned, you'll definitely be gaining a lot of value from this course.
I learned much of this course material during masterclasses on conducting and music phenomenology. Before that, I had a pretty scattered understanding of harmony—I would study the particular qualities of a sound or chord without knowing how to integrate it with the rest of my understanding. I was just learning rules.
That completely changed once I started doing short modulations and 12-tone exercises that freed up my understanding and showed me how to live inside a sound. The study of harmony no longer seemed like a dead exercise on the page.
Music and all its richness became alive.

What Readers are saying—
“Jordan’s course is like the Rosetta Stone to interesting music. It’s probably the only legit shortcut to understanding and producing awesome music, whether it classical, jazz, or good pop music. If you found this course, you’re lucky, I had another musician send it to me and we both concluded this should be the first course for every college student. Music is hilariously fun now.”
Dave M., musician
“Jordan has put together a thoughtful series of essays on music theory that begin with first principles of sound and progress in a way that is accessible to even those without a serious musical background. Through clear prose, beautiful handwritten figures, quotations, audiovisual media, and practical exercises for the reader, Jordan takes us on an engaging trip into the world of musical harmony.”

“I enjoyed this course so much! It’s not only that the content is excellent. To me, it’s that he covers it in a way that his passion for it is contagious. I haven’t really found other resources online that, instead of just formally explaining the topics, also get you excited in a philosophical way about them. You know, the way good teachers always do... Another great thing about his approach is that it makes the course interesting for people at different levels. If this is one of your first encounters with music theory, this course is definitely going to encourage you to dive deeper into it with enthusiasm. If you are more advanced, the course is still going to be a challenge, trust me. Like I said, Jordan is an amazing teacher, so he has designed it in a way that you really can take is as far as you want. And it also gives you a lot of tools and structure to expand on your own Thank you so much, Jordan!”

“I’ve played percussion all my life but never learned much harmonic theory. Jordan’s courses have taught me much more than I had expected, and they help to explain why the concepts are important, which is just as useful as the concepts themselves. I understand music on a deeper and more interesting level now, and I think I’ll continue learning more as I re-read the lessons and practice the exercises he lays out in them. I highly recommend this to anyone who similarly wants to understand harmony more fully.”

“Jordan’s 14-Day Harmony Course came at just the right time for me. I am a singer-songwriter hoping to learn more theory so I can communicate ideas more clearly with musicians. His open and kind demeanor made complicated concepts approachable for newbies like me. He was available and friendly when one had questions. I’ve printed out all the PDFs, subscribed to his YouTube, and saved a playlist of the songs we analyzed for future reference. This class has allowed me to develop a deeper connection to sound and understanding music. As a singer, my favorite lesson was learning to sing intervals and visualizing the tone as linear, intervals as 2D, and chords as 3D. Oh, and the history lessons in between the theory were so interesting! Thank you, Jordan!!”
